We use a Patient Partner Panel to bring informed patient perspectives into AI governance. Below: how we run ours, and how you can build one.
How the Stanford panel works.
Volunteer patient partners, recruited from Stanford Health Care's diverse patient community, meet routinely to review AI tools under evaluation. Each partner completes training in AI fundamentals and AI ethics before joining the review group. They continue learning through repeat participation in assessments, group conversations, and ongoing enrichment opportunities.
